Consultancy

I am always interested to undertake consultancy, or to work with business and charities on research (such as ARC Linkage Grants). I use a range of methods including data-mining, social network analysis, content analysis, interviews and focus groups.

Consultancy and Training Experience

GetUp! (Sydney): E-petitions

US State Department: Democracy Dialogues

Canadian Department of Public Works: Online moderation

Department for Work and Pensions: how to develop and conduct online deliberative exercises

I have advised and given talks about e-government and e-democracy (particularly online discussion forums and blogs) to numerous local authorities and bodies such as the International Centre of Excellence for Local E-democracy and the Hansard Society (particularly relating to their Digital Dialogues work)

I was invited to give evidence on local e-democracy initiatives to the All Party Parliamentary Local Government Group. I am currently informally advising the government on the evolution and development of e-petitions

I have been invited to talk at two Wilton Park conferences (Foreign Office-linked body) on E-government at the British Embassies in Athens and China, speaking alongside the head of digital engagement amongst others
